Just to let everyone know that the Unspoked riders are still riding. (with the odd Thursday off during holidays!).If any riders want to join the group please let me know or join us on Facebook to keep posted. Why do we exist and need financial members?

  • To foster an increased awareness of cycling and its health and general benefits in the local community.
  • To have a strong collective voice for our common identity as cyclists living, commuting and riding recreationally in the Wanaka region.
  • To liaise with and maintain the links we have with private landowners, local councils and the Crown regarding access for all forms of cycling.
  • To be able to lobby to the necessary authorities for an increase in the public areas available for cycling.
  • To provide a means for cyclists to obtain national racing licences (road & mtb).
  • To undertake projects that will have a positive outcome for cyclists in the Wanaka region and to be able to apply for funding for such projects from the appropriate authorities.
  • To foster a code of ethics for local cyclists and provide an easy method of distributing local cycling news.
  • To look after the interests of the next generation of cyclists by acting as a watchdog over local, national and international issues that involve cyclists.
  • To provide a point of contact for cyclists new to the Wanaka area.
