Welcome to mountain biking in Lake Wanaka

Once a sleepy farming hub known as a destination for skiing, fishing and tramping, Lake Wanaka is fast emerging as a biking nirvana, legendary for its varied network of family-friendly off road tails, superb single track and array of heart-stopping terrain features.

There is something here for everyone who owns a bike, and it's all a stone's throw from the town centre. Bike Wanaka is Wanaka's local bike club. We act as the unofficial guardians of the Wanaka tracks, and work to represent the interests of bikers in Wanaka, locals and visitors alike. Your support is essential to our survival. Please see below on becoming a member.

We are having a membership drive. With the move from bulk mail outs to communicating through the website we have lost contact with some people. We are trying to rectify that at the moment.
The costs of advocacy, lobbying, and of course building tracks have to be covered somehow. We do apply for grants from charitable trusts but the core support we get from our members' subs and their involvement is what keeps the club going and the committee motivated.
Please show us how much you love biking in Wanaka by signing up and paying your subs and also turning up to events. Please download, fill in this MEMBERSHIP FORM and send it in with your subs if you haven't already.

Dublin Bay update

Well thats it for the winter. A big thanks to Mark and Paul for their huge efforts over the past 6 weeks. The digger work is almost finished with the out and back track formation completed and linked up. Still lots of work required to remove roots, add drainage and grooming. We will leave it alone over winter as vehicle access and conditions are less than ideal. The track can be ridden (before the frost goes off) but would recommend other options until the spring. Thanks also to the sponsors

TC Twilight Movies @ Lonestar, Sun 20th June

Treble Cone invited the club to participate in collecting donations at this event. Even though it was a rainy evening several hundred people turned up and donated $400 to the club ! Big thanks to Treble Cone, Lonestar, members and public who came along.

Lismore working bee

A big thanks to everyone who has been helping out at Lismore over the last couple of weekends, many hands etc and more tyres for rolling and packing the better! Great effort from Dan and James trying to keep the child labour under control.

We couldn't do this without support from everyone in the club, having a machine for the weekend was a great help so keep supporting the fundraisers so that these projects carry on growing.

See you on the trails!
